Every Kid Should Know partners with Hands and Feet Project In the summer of 2004 the members of Christian music group, Audio Adrenaline, founded the Hands and Feet Project. The project, inspired by fan reaction to the song "Hands and Feet," is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing long-term, family style care for orphaned and abandoned children.Currently they are ocused on building Children's villages in the Caribbean nation of Haiti. Each village is built with the dual purpose of caring for orphans and providing a place for partners to come serve with us on short term mission trips. Leeway Artisans and Passion of the Heart Ministries will be providing books to the Hands and Feet Project so that children who are blessed by their ministries can recieve copies of books you donate. To provide a book for a child in Haiti Donate Today! Lexington author explores what every (Haitian) kid should know By Robin BassLexington-Tina Bryson had the opportunity to join a church mission trip to Haiti several years ago, but she quickly passed on the idea. Whether it was the hassle of traveling so far or the thought of ministering amid sweltering temperatures, Bryson remembered thinking if God wanted her to go to Haiti, then He would have to change her heart. Through a series of events that only God could orchestrate, Bryson said she now dreams of the day when she finally can share the love of Christ with children in Haiti. "I have been given a heart to go down there myself and hug on these kids and remind them that God loves them and has not abandoned them," Bryson said. To help her convey this message of hope, Bryson plans to send - or, she hopes, bring in person - copies of her award-winning book, "10 Things Every Kid Should Know About God," translated into Haitian Creole. The goal of our "Every Kid Should Know" Haitian Ministry project is to send 1000 copies of "10 Things Every Kid Should Know About God," translated in Haitian Creole, to missions serving in Haiti. We believe that every child should be reminded that The Creator sees them, loves them, and has a purpose for their lives. We are thrilled to be able to put a copy of this book in the hands of children in their very own language. You can help. For just $70, you can send 10 books or for $35 you can send 5 books. The campaign will run through December 31, 2011.Haitian Ministry Project Press ReleaseChildren’s Devotional Book to Be Translated for Haitian Ministry Project1000 books to minister to children in their own languageWaldorf, MD, September 26, 2011: With an estimated 380,000 orphans before the earthquake last year, even more children in Haiti now find themselves struggling to survive and make sense of tragedy in the world. Author Tina Bryson wanted to remind these children that in spite of their situation, “God sees them, God loves them, and He does have a purpose for their lives.”Leeway Artisans published Bryson’s book, “10 Things Every Kid Should Know About God,” to help children understand what having a relationship with God is about. In just a year’s time, the publisher and author have now teamed up with five translators to make this award-winning book accessible to children in Haiti in their own language. “I had a friend that was going to Haiti on a missions trip to work with kids in Vacation Bible School and at an orphanage,” Bryson said. “We realized that we could have a greater impact if we sent books in Creole. And within two weeks of our confirmation to start the project, four others had eagerly volunteered their time to help. It was amazing to see God bring all of the pieces together.” The project is expected to reach completion by early November with a goal of sending 1000 copies of the translated version by year’s end. Donations and pledges are currently being received as the project gains momentum. “This project is a great opportunity to serve,” said Gueber Lamour, one of the translators. “I was moved by the willingness of others to dedicate themselves to provide educational tools to a nation unrelated to them in many ways. In fact, my support is a token of my gratitude for what they are doing for the children in Haiti.” Initial support for the project has been overwhelming with nearly 20% of the goal reached before any public announcement was made. “It just resonated with people,” Bryson said. “It moved me to think about how much God loves these children in spite of everything that has happened in their country. This book is just a small way of reminding them that they are not forgotten by us, nor by their Heavenly Father. I hope that God blows us away and enables us to send thousands of books to Haiti.” The Creole version of “10 Things Every Kid Should Know About God” will be available for just $7.00 each book starting October 1 at www.leewayartisans.com/everykidshouldknow. |
